
CCFH Ministries, in conjunction with the Distance Learning Department at Johnson Bible College, has developed an online training course in disability ministry. This fully accredited course of study consists of 12-credit hours in four three-hour courses.
DISM 2242: Introduction to Disability Ministry
The purpose of this course is to acquaint the student with the field of disability. A term paper is the major requirement.
DISM 3212: Survey of Persons with Disabilities
Relating the characteristics and needs of the various groups of people with disabilities is the purpose of this study. The role of the public school is reviewed.
DISM 4044: Family Issues in Disability Ministry
The needs of the family experiencing disability are explored in this course. Several strategies for providing ministry to the family are included in this study.
DISM 4064: Ministry Strategies for Persons with Disabilities
Developing ministry is the focus of this study, especially in raising awareness about the challenges of disability, providing Christian Education, elevating awareness for meeting the spiritual needs of people with disabilities, providing Christian education, including people with disabilities in worship and ministry, and working in the community to provide service. A ministry project is a major requirement.
Training the church staff and volunteers for disability ministry is important. This training program will make staff and volunteers more competent to provide Christian education to people of all abilities.
